Road  11/03/2024

On Wednesday, March 27, Lotte Kopecky, the current world champion and top one-day cyclist, will be at the starting line for the 12th edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen for women.

Traditionally, Dwars door Vlaanderen is the race where riders give their all one last time before the Tour of Flanders. On March 27, 14 UCI Women’s WorldTeams will compete in Waregem. The team to watch will undoubtedly be Team SD Worx - Protime. The Dutch team is coming to Waregem this year with none other than the world champion Lotte Kopecky. Last year's winner, Demi Vollering, who also won the Tour de France Femmes in 2023, will also be at the starting line.

Since 2021, the women's race starts at the Waregem Hippodrome. This year, too, that iconic place in Waregem will be the backdrop for the start of the women's race. For Kopecky, it will be the first time she starts at the Hippodrome. It is her third participation in Dwars door Vlaanderen. She was at the start in 2017 and 2019, but has not yet managed to win.

On March 27, around 18:00, we will know whether she will clinch victory and the Waregem horse. Fans can go to Waregem for the start of the women's race at 13:00. The final can be followed live on the Proximus Pickx livestream.
