Former winner of Dwars Door Vlaanderen Jelle Wallays has set himself an ultimate challenge: cycling 15,000 km in 100 days along Europe’s outer borders. A beautiful tribute to his uncle Luc Wallays, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2013.

Wallays built an impressive track record during his 13-year professional career, highlighted by a resounding victory in Dwars Door Vlaanderen in 2015. He’s no longer riding in the professional peloton but he's far from ready to hang up his bike. On the contrary, Wallays will symbolically begin his epic cycling journey on April 2, 2025, the day Dwars Door Vlaanderen takes place.

From that moment, his journey will span more than 20 countries, accompanied by a cameraman. Starting from his hometown Staden, he will cycle through Spain, Portugal, back into Spain, and Italy. He’ll take a ferry to the Balkans and Athens before heading to Rybnik, where his Lotto teammate Bjorg Lambrecht tragically passed away during the Tour of Poland. Via Berlin and the northernmost tip of Denmark, Wallays will return home on July 10. Thanks to a website with a tracker, everyone will be able to follow him. An extra trip to Northern France, where the Tour de France will start, is not ruled out.

The goal: to raise €50,000 for Kom op tegen Kanker. To make the project possible, he is looking for sponsors. An incredible initiative with which Wallays aims to end his career in a grand way.
