Women Elite mobility
The start of the Women Elite will take place at the Gaverbeekhippodrome in the Holstraat, while the finish line (for Men and Women Elite) will be a little further on the Verbindingsweg. Both locations are close to the city centre and easily accessible on foot.
Do you want to head to Waregem by bike, just like the riders? You can park your bike in the bike stall of the library (Boekenplein), the Elindus Arena (covered bike parking at the main stand near the stadium ponds), or at the De Treffer swimming pool (Meersstraat). That way, you’re close to both the start of the women's race and the finish of Dwars Door Vlaanderen. Would you rather head to the fan zone at the Hippodrome? Then you can park your bike at the Hippodrome bike parking. Don’t forget to bring your lock so you can safely leave your bike while you enjoy the race!
During the race, all normal transport tickets, such as season tickets or a Lijnkaart, are valid. All information and timetables can be found at www.delijn.be. De Lijn stops are located at the station. Bear in mind that the timetable might change due to our cycling race.
At Bruges station, you can take a train to Waregem every 30 minutes, change trains at Gent-Sint-Pieters station. This train journey takes about an hour. Trains to Waregem also depart regularly at Gent-Sint-Pieters and Gent-Dampoort stations. These journeys take 20 to 30 minutes.
From the station it is about 1,5 kilometres to the arrival line. You can also take the bus there towards the arrival zone at Zuiderlaan/Verbindingsweg, but bear in mind that De Lijn's timetable might be altered due to our cycling race. View the NMBS timetable here.
The arrival zone of Dwars door Vlaanderen is just outside the city centre. The peripheral car parks in the area (Waregem Expo and Jeugdcentrum) are reserved for the race organisation.
At all shop&go places, parking time will be limited to 30 minutes. The underground car parks Pand and Zuiderpromenade do remain paying.
